Everything you need to have a proper view on how your students are doing and how they are performing, can be found on the Learn > Manage pages. Learn Management includes course analytics, managing course / session requests, certificates and much more!

An important distinction to remember is that you can create/configure new content in Studio > Courses / Sessions / Tracks, but after creating the content, all follow-up happens in Learn > Manage.

The Learn Management page is only visible for the admins and the course/session instructors: only they should have access to course activity and its analytics.

Overview

In the Overview tab you’ll find a wide range of information.

  • The total users on the platform
  • Total experience points earned by all the users (the experience points are earned by completing steps in courses. Depending on the difficulty level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert), the student will earn more or less experience points (1,2,3,4)
  • Total amount of badges earned

In the graph you have an overview of the skills earned on the platform. You can filter on the period (this week - this month - all time) and change the view to the total skill points earned or the average. By clicking on the skills on the right, you can activate or deactivate them in the graph.

When scrolling even further down, you see a leaderboard of all the students on the platform. Again you have several filters (time, student groups and skills). This gives you an idea who is performing well or who should put some more time and effort in learning on the platform.

In the top right corner, you can download a CSV file from the data available. A CSV is a simple file format used to store tabular data, like in a spreadsheet. Files in the CSV format can be imported to and exported from programs that store data in tables, such as Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice Calc.

Courses

In the courses tab you’ll see a list of all the courses on the platform and their stats. A green dot before a the name of a course indicates that it’s published, a grey dot indicates that the course hasn't been published yet. You can see the number of enrolments, number of completions, the completion rate in percentages and the average progression rate. Clicking on a course in the list will direct you to more detailed analytics.

Course engagement

This tab gives you an insight in your students' engagement with the course

  • For the videos in a course, you’ll see a video engagement graph. This allows you to view how the audience as a whole has viewed your content. You can see over time when people stopped watching the video and where you lost the attention of the viewers. This might be an indication to make your video more attractive (or engaging) at this point.
  • For the quizzes in a course, you can see the distribution in attempts. Here you could conclude if some questions were maybe too easy or too hard. It gives you great insights on how you’ve built your test.
  • For the slides you can see how long the students took on average to look at one slide. Here you can conclude which slides were difficult to understand and can adjust accordingly.
  • For the text elements in your course, you can see how long it took on average for the students to read the texts.

Course / Session requests

The course and session requests tab show an overview of students that have requested to be enrolled in a certain course or session. These tabs will only be visible if you have such an approval process configured. You can ask your success manager to enable this feature for your platform. More info about the session approval flow can be found here. The process works very similar for course approvals.

A green dot before the name of a track indicates that it’s published, a grey dot indicates that the track hasn't been published yet.
